Book 6:Dangerous Deception:
Chapter Seven
Flight To Zanthar
The Doomian battle cruiser wasn't fully staffed as it was assumed that two humans wouldn't give their small crew much trouble.
"I bet you a week's credits that Security dropped the ball, fell asleep or something. Damn, why'd that pond scum Cossack had to send us on out during the Games. I had some bets goin'." The helm officer complained.
"He's an ass, that's why. Ever since he made Command, he thinks his ass don't stink. Doesn't remember us non-coms."
"Yeah, got above his pondscum raising. Now get your eyes back on track, Helmsman."
"Beep!"
"Approaching Zanthar, Captain."
"Run a scan." The Captain yawned. This would be an easy mission.
"Hey, I'm picking up a high amount of contained energy about a half-slarr (mile) from Sec Ops."
"Might be an energy surge - probably why they're not answering. Begin descent, weapons engage. Not taking any chances." "Aye."
Suddenly, a flash and then -
VOLTRON????????????????????????????"
SLASH!
The small ship was cleaved in two and the Drules within were disintergated before another thought could be formed or an alert be sounded.
As One
"Keith!! Did you SEE that?" Pidge gasped out.
"I did! Voltron formed the Blazing Sword - without any command!"
"I didn't touch a damn thing,Keith. Neither did Pidge!"
"Hey, and don't forget, we're runnin' on FOUR LIONS..." Hunk added.
"It's appears we have spirits running Voltron, team, but why?" Keith was puzzled. Could this be intervention of King Alfor?
Nay, my mortal children. The familar voice of Black Lion spoke to each pilot's mind. A wise and noble is he, but this abomination he could not defeat on his own.
"To kill King Zarkon and his evil Empire for good!" Keith said out loud.
my father...god! Lance clenched his fists. How I'd like wrap my hands around his neck...
"And save the Princess!" Pidge sounded a little more like himself.
We go now, Lion Knights! All the Lions - even the unmanned Blue - said in their minds.
They were - pilots - machine - magic and Holiness, becoming as One.
Lotor: We Who Are About To Die...
When Lotor entered the Arena, cheers and catcalls greeted him, for many people in the crowd had been at one time or another wtonged by the former Prince.
I suppose I deserve this. Lotor stared straight ahead as he walked to the center of the blood splated ground.
Traditionally, if a disgraced Doomian officer was sentenced to die in the Arena, once he reached the center, he would face his King and cry out, 'We who are about to die, salute you!'
As if in slow motion, Lotor turned to face Zarkon seated in his skybox, the glass partion removed from it so that Zarkon could see and hear the death throes of his disgraced son - the disappointment of his evil life.
Lotor could see Allura, his only love, staring at him. The crowd silenced for a moment, waiting for the customary phrase to be spoken.
"I LOVE YOU, LOTOR!!" Allura suddenly screamed out. The crowd roared, it's interest in what just might have transpired between Zarkon's Queen and the former prince.
"You traitorous BITCH!!" Zarkon rose and slapped Allura hard. You're fortunate you carry my heir, Allura, otherwise - "
Lotor ran to the Royal Box, smashing the guards that blocked his way. He didn't care anymore. His life for hers.
so it was Ordained... A thought passed through Lotor's mind briefly. He had to save Allura and his child! His life meant nothing to him now.
Allura suddenly laughed, her eyes glittering almost madly.
"I carry LOTOR's CHILD!!!" Allura was giggling uncontrolably now.
"Bitch, Whore..." Zarkon jerked her up and pushed her roughly towards one the guards. "Hold her. I'll deal with her later." Zarkon's eyes glowed with a kind of evil excitement.
Mother, he killed my mother... Those nightmares. Mother, Allura...all defiled, their lives choked out by his - no.
"NNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAA!!!" Lotor screamed wildly like an animal as he lunged at Zarkon.
But Zarkon had expected it - or least it seemed so as Zarkon's battle blade stabbed into's Lotor's chest.
"NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! LOTOR!!" Allura screamed.
Tears flowed down Allura's as she saw Lotor slump, seemingly lifeless.
Too late, she had realized her great love for her prince.
