Quickly securing his bed with magnetic
locks, she suddenly noticed his diagnostics board beeping. Then she noticed
that there was a scorch mark on the diagnostic board. Damn! The stray fire
must have hit it! He may die!
She didn't know why that mattered since she told him countless times how much
she hated him. She had to get back to Arus!
Allura tried to still the frantic beating of her heart, started up the lion
and pushed her mecha as fast as it would go to Arus...
Dr. S'Vantes walked into his private office. The door shut and locked automatically behind him. He was depressed. He didn't particularly care if the girl or the Drule were caught - he hoped the bots would kill them. In a moment it wasn't going to matter anymore. He was ready to join Gina. Let them find out what he had done.
Yes. Let them find out that he had tortured captured Drules during the war. He had been head of medical staff in one of the temporary POW camps on Orion. He hated it there and he hated treating the Drules that came his way. After Gina's death it seemed like an affront to her memory.
But then he got even. He became fascinated by the works of Dr. Mengele of
Earth - or rather of Nazi Germany. At first he simply read of him to pass the
time, but later he read for information. He used variations of Mengele's
experiments upon wounded and dying Drules. No one ever questioned why the
death rate of Drules on Orion was so high or why there seemed to be more
mangled and pychologically scarred Drule POWS from that camp. After the war,
many of them disappeared to other star systems or they simply died. Those
that dared to report him to the Council were never seen and their stories
discounted as the defeated trying to bring down the victors. He kept good
records and the bodies were disintergated quickly so that there was no trace.
But now that didn't matter. His life was an open book now. He'd be beyond
Alliance justice.
He went to his desk, keyed in his security code and a small drawer opened up.
Ah, there you are, my little beauty.. he smiled, holding up a hypo.
Lethal, quick and dangerous - Deathshead - it was called in slang, but the pharmactical name was practically unpronounable. He hated Drules but he had to admit they made some very nice killing drugs. He had to take one full
vial of this through his arm via a hypo spray for it to work properly. A
half-dose would only render one mad and he didn't want that. He had enough
madness in his life.
"Ah Gina, I'm coming home to you, dearest."
Davin smiled as he removed his coat
and rolled up his shirt sleeve.
Just as he felt the hiss of the hypo, his door blasted open and there he saw
his friend Joe and two security bots.
"No!!" Joe cried out, diving for him.
"You're too late!" Davin started to laugh as Joe dived for him. Joe snatched
the hypo out of his arm half emptied.
"NO! DAMN YOU! YOU WON'T DENY ME BEING WITH GINA AGAIN! I'LL KILL YOU!" S'ervante's
hands grasped for Joe's throat, the drug already taking effect within him.
Before he could do much damage though, one of the bots let out a stun ray and
hit Davin. He collasped limply on the floor and Joe got up off him. He winced
as he went to pick up the hypo on the floor. It was half-filled. They would
have to analyze this. It was obvious that Davin - stable, good Davin had
tried to kill himself. He felt pity for his friend. They had shared a lot of
good times together and now - it had to come to this.
"Take him to Psych Ward - maxiumum security, under my orders. They'll be
expecting you."
The bots did as they were told and carried Dr. Davin S'Vantes gently away. Joe
frowned as he watched them go. If the drug was what he thought it was then
his friend was most certainly mad.
Dr. Gorma recieved the call from Coran first.
"Are you sitting down?" Coran asked.
"More or less - trying to shuffle paperwork. What is it? One of the guys get
hurt?"
"No, but you'll be having a guest in oh - a few minutes. It's Prince Lotor."
Gorma stood up out of his chair in shocked reflex and said, "Prince Lotor? What in
the hell are you talking about Coran?"
"Princess Allura notified me five minutes ago that she would be landing and
to have a medical team ready to bring Lotor in. He is in a stasis unit but
it's been damaged."
Dr. Gorma sighed. Great. Just when things had quieted down! What in the hell
was the Princess doing? He hoped he'd get an explanation!
"Dr. Gorma?"
"Yes. I'm here. I'll get a team down there and I'll be with them."
"I was going to request that also."
"Good, I think afterwards I'll request a whisky straight." he grumbled.
Coran actualy chuckled. "That doesn't sound half bad, Baile. I'll join you on
that one."
"Gorma out."
Dr. Gorma quickly called for a small medical team and a life support unit to
be brought down just in case, Lotor's unit was more damaged than thought. In
his mind now, he had gone past the shock of Lotor being here on Arus and now
just thought of him as a patient who would be under his care.
The medical team and Dr. Gorma hurried down to the landing area to meet with their Princess and the
former Prince of Doom.
