Blind Faith:Twenty-Three

Space Explorers Explore

Planet Tarsus,Planet Tarsus, Dr. David Hawkin's Underground Medicial Complex:

"Damn, you wouldn't have thought all this was DOWN here." Lance shook his head as they explored the medical facilities below the ruins.

"It's fully stocked." Pidge said. "Dr. Gorma would probably love to have some of this equipment."

"Hey, look at all this FOOD!" Hunk replied from the other side of the room.

"Leave it to Hunk to find the food.." Lance quipped.

"Yo, guys! Come here. Found something interesting." Keith said.

The other VF members came over to where Keith was.

"According to this readout, a pod was recently sent out - well recent meaning within the past three months.." Keith said.

"Let me take a look-see, Keith." Pidge came over one of the wall panels and worked his usual magic with the computer system.

"Evidently, this was a jettison system to place bodies in capsules for interment."

"English, please, Pidge."

"Interment - you know, burial of bodies? It's really pretty darn efficient actually."

"Pretty damn COLD if you ask ME." Lance crossed his arms. "This isn't helping us to find Allura."

"Lance you know we have to explore every possibity." Keith said. "The princess could have - "

"DON'T say it, Keith." Lance glared at him.

"Hm, I've located the database of bodies that were buried here." Pidge said.

"Geez, Pidge. You're morbid." Hunk commented.

"Am not! Hey, wait a minute! This last entry here.." He quickly keyed in for more detailed information. His eyes widened as he read, "Dr. Mikos David Hawkins, died Alliance date 11.02.2497. He knew no prejudice in the preformance of his duties.." and its signed by the PRINCESS!" Pidge's voice rose.

"What? Let me see!" Keith said. He saw that what Pidge said was true. This made things even more confusing. She had taken Lotor to this doctor and now the doctor was dead and Allura had seen that he was buried properly.

"I bet you money that the good doctor treated Lotor and then when he recovered, the bastard killed the doctor and took off with Allura!" Lance was quite ready to hunt down Lotor and fire Red Lion's missiles square into that black heart of his.

"We don't have that evidence, Lance!" Keith's brows were furrowed.

"Only way we're gonna find out about Dr. Hawkins is to take him out.." Pidge said thoughtfully.

Hunk raised a brow. "You mean like an autopsy? Remind me not to eat anything.." He made a face.

"Nah, with this equipment, I bet we may be able to find the cause." Pidge said.

"This isn't helping us find Allura!" Lance looked pretty impatient.

"And we've GOT to find out what happened here." Keith said. "Look, if you're THAT impatient, I suggest the four of us fan out and look for any clues. Pidge, you seem to be able to work that machine, so I suggest you try and see what you can do. Let's go."

"See, this is WHY you're the leader." Lance grinned, happy to be doing something.

"Oh shut up." Keith rolled his eyes.

"And SO diplomatic too." Lance quipped.

Keith ignored THAT comment as the four young men fanned out to explore the underground complex.

Lance hadn't found any sort of clue until he came upon a part of the complex that had obviously been near a partial cave in one of the nearby corridors. There was quite a bit of dirt on the floor and -

"Footprints!" Lance exclaimed, touching his chest badge com. "Keith! Hey, I found footprints. Get on over here. From the look of them, they're Garrison."

"Coming.." Keith replied. Within moments he was there beside Lance, who was crouching down.

"See the tread? Garrison issue boots - officer class." Lance said.

"You know your shoes, Lance." Keith said.

"Yeah, yeah. The guy that wore these has a pretty big damn size."

"You know what they say about - " Keith said.

"Hey, I'm the king of the one-liners here." Lance glanced up at Keith.

"Yep. Let's see where these go. I'll take snaps with the cam. At least we have evidence if we need it."

Lance had stood up and carefully followed the tracks as Keith took pictures. Lance's eyes widened as he saw where they lead to.

"Keith! Signs of a struggle, hurry up!" Lance yelled. Keith hustled on over. A struggle was bad news.

Meanwhile, Hunk had made his own discovery.

"Hey, Pidge. I found a regen chamber." Pidge was trying to retrieve Dr. Hawkin's pod when he heard Pidge through his com.

"So? There's a lot of 'em here." Pidge said distractedly.

"Yeah but this one looks like whoever was in it kinda fell out. There's goo everywhere."

"Yeah?" This caught Pidge's interest. Maybe that was the tank that Lotor had been in.

"Yeah. Lotta stuff knocked over near it too. Looks like whoever was in it walked off."

"Well, do me a favor, Hunk. Let Keith and Lance know and see if you can follow that trail. Could be that Lotor was in that thing."

"Gotcha, Pidge. Hunk out." The transmission cut off, leaving Pidge to his task.

"Okay, lets see if THIS will work.." Pidge mumbled to no one in particular.
