Dark Promise - Epilogue

Prince D'aavid and Princess Allura watched from the safety of the woods as the new Castle of Lions rose from the ground, gleaming and shining, ew and stronger than ever. Allura hung her head sadly and thought of Coran. She wept softly in D'aavid's arms for the man she had remembered as a child. She knew he had meant it when he had said he loved her. If she had not been bonded, or if they had not been what they had been-who could know? She knew he was dead and she mourned for him. He was the last of her old life. D'aavid held her close for a long time, letting her cry. Allura looked up, teary-eyed at his handsome face and thought that he was her new life now.

The man known as the Dark Prince, held his wife in his arms, feeling as though he had travelled a long road. His journey alone was over, and now their journey together would begin. He had ended the reign of Queen Allura, the ruler of ghosts.

They would bring back Voltron and bring peace back to the Galaxy. Together they would rule Arus as Alfor and Meryll had done and they would fight the evil rule of his father, who had hurt too many people and ruined too many lives in his long reign. The dark promise had turned into a bright beacon of hope. But that was for the future.

Allura, his wife, looked up and him and said, "Well, D'aavid?" He looked at her questioningly and said, "Well, what, Allura?" She smiled and wrapped her arms around him. "Aren't you going to kiss me? I mean, it's what they do in fairy tales."

He did, and of course, this story not being a fairy tale they did more than that, and they lived if not happily ever after, then at least reasonably so.
